Summary
You will definitely have no problem in noticing this beautifully illustrated book on some of the commonly grown culinary herbs, how to plant them and more importantly, what to do with them – eat. The authors have presented this book on Asian Herbs in such a simple, “easy-to-follow” through yet very informative. “Grow, Cook and Eat”…tells you about 12 different types of herbs, the wide range of their uses in cooking and for desserts, including recipes that you can try. The authors also tell you how to grow your own herbs, do simple composting and making your own natural fertilizers including managing pests in your garden. This book interests me as I enjoy most local herbs in my food. I put herbs in my cooking to impart the flavor, example I use lemongrass and ginger a lot in my simple cooking. Among all the recipes in this book, I found this one “ Blue Lime Cooler” quite intriguing. One of the ingredients is a handful of dried blue pea flowers. Get hold of this book and try this out.
