Long House on the Stilt

The long house of the Dayak tribe is a place where all households are connected. The corridor inside the house is a place for everyone to celebrate the festival. The corridor outside the house is a place for the sun, and the place under the house is a place for raising livestock. This is an unorthodox way of painting with Chinese Caligraphy technique. The artist used powerful strokes coupled with monochromatic colour to reproduce the characteristic of longhouse on stilts. Combination of Chinese artistic technique and Sarawakian local scenery strive to bring audience a refreshing visual experience.
