Answer: 1. To formulate and implement fiscal policies in ensuring sustainable economic growth and manage the appropriation of financial resources efficiently and effectively.
2. To formulate fair tax policy system in generating national revenue.
3. To formulate Government’s procurement policies and administer public sector’s procurement-related matters.
4. To secure Federal Government’s funding resources and provide financing to eligible Federal and State agencies, as well as private sector for privatisation projects.
5. To monitor Government companies established under the Minister of Finance (Incorporated) as well as the financial management of the Federal Statutory Body especially on matters related to investment, financing and cash flow management in ensuring good governance practices.
6. To formulate and establish the principles, procedures and guidelines related to the public sector financial and accounting management systems for ministries’ reference and adherence.
7. To provide advisory services to Ministries, on high impact projects with national interests.
8. To coordinate on matters related to international relations, especially in the areas of economics and financial cooperation to safeguard the national interest.
9. To address appeal cases related to income and customs tax disputes.
10. To regulate the credit reporting industry accurately, fairly and equitably.
