Question: How do I know that I am stressed?

Answer: - Heart rate increases
- Muscles tense to prepare for action
- Breathing becomes quicker, to take up more oxygen to fuel the muscles for action
- Digestive processes slow down and more acid is produced in the stomach, leading to physical discomfort or pain
- Negative feelings of anxiety, worry, fear or anger
- Having sleep problems (problem getting and staying asleep, or sleeping too much)
- Having appetite problems (not feeling hungry at meal times, or feeling hungry for most times)
