Question: I would like to obtain e-books for the school library from the state library. What should I do?

Answer: As for free e-books you can get it online such as from Project Gutenburg (https://www.gutenberg.org/). This project offer free epublication and Kindle eBooks that can be download or read online. You will find the world’s great literature here, with focus on older works for which U.S. copyright has expired. Thousands of volunteers digitized and diligently proofread the eBooks.

As for the state libraries in Malaysia, once you register as a member you will have an access to their digital collection and online resources such as e-books. What you need to do is register as a member for free and as long as you have your device and connected to the internet you will have an access to the e-resources collection subscribed by the libraries. Membership for Pustaka Negeri Sarawak is free for life and member can borrow physical books up to 10 books for two weeks and have an access to all Pustaka e-resources collection.

In addition to this, under collaborative synergy from the Ministry of Information Communications and Culture (KPKK) through Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), with the support of the National Library of Malaysia (PNM) has established a digital library known as ubiquitous Library or popularly known as u-Pustaka (https://www.u-library.gov.my). The following u-Pustaka Consortium members:

3. Pahang State Library Corporation (PPAP)
4. Sarawak State Library (PUSTAKA)
