IMPORTANT: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Guidelines on Our Operations

Dear Users/Patrons,

With the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in Sarawak particularly in Miri, Sibu and Kuching, Pustaka Negeri Sarawak will further strengthen and impose the following guidelines as efforts to help prevent further the spread of COVID-19:-

EFFECTIVE DATE
Wednesday, 13th January, 2021

1. ENTRY TO PUSTAKA’S BUILDING
a. All users and visitors are required to register on WeCare/ COVIDTrace/ MySejahtera, whenever they visited the library.
b. We exercise cautions by reading temperatures of all visitors and staff, and we sanitize our facilities regularly.
c. Setting up queuing systems and clear signage to ensure safe physical distancing. All readers are to be seated 1 meter apart from each other.
d. Please abstain from coming to the library, if you are not feeling well.

2. OPERATION HOURS
a. 10AM – 5PM (for onsite services)
b. 24/7 (for online services)

3. SERVICES PROVIDED: -
a. Reference service and Lending service
b. Physical browsing for General Collection is allowed.
c. Retrieval of Special Collection material requested onsite shall be carried out by the staff on duty.
d. Users are encouraged to use Book Bear service as much as possible.
e. Reference services at State Records Repository (SRR) shall be conducted online.
f. Onsite Depository advisory service shall be by appointment.

4. PRESENCE AT THE LIBRARIES & REPOSITORY
a. Function rooms, library reference areas including staff areas will onlynbe allowed at 50% capacity at any one time.
b. A maximum of 10 children are allowed in the library building at any one time.
c. Card system shall be activated to control number of capacity at one time.
d. Presence of staff at the office outside their WAO hours shall be upon approval of the Pegawai Keselamatan Jabatan.
e. Rental of all facilities shall be suspended until further notice.
f. All physical activities shall be suspended until further notice.
g. The operations of WOL Café Kuching, Food kiosk in Miri and Sibu shall be minimal.

As there might be slight delays in entering our premises, we appreciate your understanding and cooperation because your safety is our main priority.
