TREE PLANTING PROGRAM 2019

KUCHING – Sarawak State Library will hold a Tree Planting Program on Sunday, April 7th, 2019 at Taman, Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (Kuching). This program will start at 4:00 pm and among the participants are Member of Board Management and Pustaka’s staff, together our Smart Partner, Friends of Library (FOL), Friends of Archive (FOA), and member of Community Farming.

The Tree Planting Program is an annual activity organized by the Pustaka Negeri Sarawak aim to foster appreciation on environmental greenery and educate the general public, especially the new generation to keep and appreciate the environment. This kind of program will provide aesthetical value and enliven the surrounding area of Taman, Pustaka and provide green shade to the human and various species of flora and fauna.

Indirectly, such program will create a record that is not just in the form of real physical papers but for the next generation to know and learn the shape, the color of the leaves and the color of the flowers and the appearance of the planted fruit trees.

The organizing of such programs is also expected to strengthen the relationship and spirit of cooperation and mutual assistance among users, smart partner and our collaborators. 119 stems consisting of 19 different species will be planted on that day. Among the species of trees to be planted on the day are; Engkabang. Pokok Ubah, Kembang Semangkuk and Bintangor Putih.
