Summary
To me, this book is very helpful for diabetic readers, their care-takers or anyone who live and engage with them in day-to-day routines. The author, Betty Crocker along with diabetes experts from the International Diabetes Center and the Bell Institute of Health and Nutrition at General Mills, has created an all-in-one diabetes resource, filled with delicious recipes and up-to-the-minute medical and nutrition information – all meant to help diabetic readers develop an eating plan that suits their medical conditions. The book has 264 pages and designed to make meals easy. It gives recipes from day-starter breakfast to delightful and healthy desserts. It also recommends the recipes for smart snacks, breads, pleasing poultry, fish and meat and vital vegetables and salads for intake. The author also shares stand-out meatless meals, great grains, legumes and pasta which served as healthy intake for diabetics. The also provides the number of Carbohydrate Choices for every recipe, following the latest guidelines of the American Diabetes Association and also the Metric Conversion Guide for the recipes. I must say his book is easy-to-follow health information, from an explanation of the types of diabetes to a nutrition primer and a medical resource guide with a wide variety of delicious, satisfying food that are good for readers with diabetes.
