Summary
The ability to observe and process is important in social work with children and families. However, successively questions about the child mortality have shown that the problems faced by professionals in doing what is superficial is a very simple task, highlighting the difficulty of seeing, thinking, and developing an understanding of the child`s experience. This book helps readers to develop an understanding of what is needed in observation, explaining the unique view that child observations can lead to practice with children and families. By describing the relevant theoretical concepts, it helps them to understand what they are doing and help them develop their own skills. The major theoretical concepts are brought together from psychological developments and psychoanalytic thinking in a way that allow practitioners to decide to inform and enrich their thinking. A useful case study is suggested that practitioners can relate their own practices as they struggle to understand the difficult situation.
