Summary
Trigger Warning: the book tells the story of Nora, who tried to commit suicide but is now stuck between life and death. She then meets a librarian, Mrs. Elm who guides her through the endless rows of bookshelves filled with life options that she could have chosen throughout her life. Mrs. Elm tells her that she can pick a book off of the shelves and try to see if that is the right life she wants and can decide if she wants to continue living in that universe. Nora picks a few options and saw different lives that she could have led, given the choices she had to make back then. The story's powerful message stands; human will never be satisfied with whatever life they chose to live, regret will always be a part of our lives but you just have to keep living it even without explanations. As a Muslim, I interpret this as putting your utmost faith in Allah and to not fret anything that happens as it all happens for a reason. I highly recommend this book for life affirmations and thought-provoking for better self reflection.
