Learn About Culture & Environment from Around the World

Posted on 07 April 2009

The theme for this year is
Culture and Environment.  It will
involve indigenous students aged between 13-18 from Sarawak (Malaysia), Kampala
(Uganda), Ufra-Shigiri (Yeketerinburg, Russia) and Denton (University of North
Texas, USA).

Participants
of this program will create an original art project demonstrating the current
or potential impact of climate change on their respective community.  This may be any visual or aural depiction
such as painting, dance, sculpture, etc.

Objectives
of the program are to indulge the younger generation to conserve and appreciate
our local customs/ traditions and the environment, to create awareness about global
climate change and its impact on the local communities and to  develop artistic and creative ideas from the
multi-ethnic students.

Members of the
public are invited to attend this program from 11.00am – 1.00pm at the Seminar
Room in Pustaka Negeri.
