Traditional Japanese Dance - Hanagasa
Ondo
This time around Noriko Chubachi will introduce
the 'Hanagasa Ondo' - a traditional Japanese dance
which takes place in Yamagata Prefecture Japan.
The dance is
performed with a simple straw hat decorated with synthetic flowers. It is
usually performed by women, but men can also join in. The dance movements are
different for each gender.
"Hanagasa" means "flower
hat" and "Ondo"
means "dance".
