Pustaka Negeri Sarawak will organize a Book Launch of ‘Sarawak Historical Landmarks’ on Wednesday, 21st October 2015 at the library’s Auditorium at
9.30 am.

‘Sarawak Historical Landmarks’ is another successful book written by local author, Heidi Munan. Heidi has been studying the material culture and history of Sarawak for over 40 years.

In her capacity as a private researcher and Hon. Curator of Beads at the Sarawak Museum she has had ample opportunity to study and learn from indigenous experts and foreign scholars in this and related fields.

Besides an active involvement in tourism and handicrafts promotion, she has published books, articles and papers on various topics related to Sarawak and Borneo.

This book launching program is one of Pustaka’s initiatives under the Legal Deposit Division that encourage and promote writing and publishing locally and also to inculcate a reading culture among the public.

The main purpose of Legal Deposit is to preserve the nation’s literary heritage and making them accessible to the present and future generations.

This programme will be officiated by YB Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Zohari Bin Tun Abang Haji Openg , Honourable Minister of Tourism and Housing of Sarawak and Heidi Munan will hosting a book review session of Sarawak Historical Landmarks on that day.
