Salleh, Assistant Minister at Chief Ministers Office (Promotion of Technical
Education) and Assistant Minister of Environment Sarawak who is also the Kuala
Rajang assemblyman is expected to officially launch the Kampung Rajang Village
Library on Wednesday, 24 February 2016, 10.30 am at the library.
Community engagement program
such as spring cleaning and tree planting will be held at the library. Educational
programs for all ages such as Information Literacy Class, Born To Read, storytelling
competition, Info Hunt, cupcakes and flowers decoration competition will also be
organized in conjunction with this launching ceremony.
This village library project
was a smart partnership between the National Library (PNM), Pustaka Negeri
Sarawak, Matu Daro District Council and the Village Development and Security
Committees (JKKK).
The library is equipped with
variety of reading materials consisting of various subjects, giving the opportunity
to the communities to access and obtain various types of information needed.
