I was pleased to see the general structure was such that basics, general tips, specific projects, and a link to templates were all included. There are also tiny projects as companion projects to major cake decorating sections (e.g., small stacks of cookies with ganache between them and a decorative topping). Even if you feel you`re not up to the complex cakes, you can start with those small projects. The Equipment chapter details required tools and the Metallics chapter explains the various forms of edible metallic whether leaf transfer sheets, dragees, lustre powders, edible glitter, sanding sugar, jimmies, etc. The Metallic Techniques chapter details how to use the materials along with other methods like painting with color pastes, etc. There are approximately 14 other chapters that take the reader step-by-step through a variety of projects that serve as inspiration to explore this beautiful method of cake decorating.
