Ringkasan: Paper Dolls is a drama theater written by Philip Himberg. It is a story of how the 5 Filipino imigrants making life for themselves in Tel Aviv, Israel. Sally, Jiojio, Zhan, Chiqui and Cheska is a transexual Filipino imigrants working as a caregivers to elderly Orthodox Jewish men in day and being a low-rent drag queen act during the night. It was based on an extraordinary true story. Whats interesting about reading this book is, Every details from the scene play, the music background and emotions in every act is written so legitly. Everytime when i read this book, i can clearly imagine how the play running in my head and how the actors play with their character. Other than that, this story involve multi-language which is english, Philipine, and Hebrew. This gives me a chance to learn new language while reading Paper Dolls. Unlike other novels, Paper Dolls tells us the real life struggles of the transexual Filipino imigrants with a universal desire to find a place call ‘Home’ for themselves. Even in the hardest time, they always finds a way to make jokes and stick together through tough times.
