Ikigai (pronounced Ick-ee-guy) consists of two words, ‘iki’ (to live) and ‘gai’(reason). It brings meaning of “reason to live’ or “reason for being”. The word can be referring to having the direction of life purposes, which makes life worthwhile and the willingness of oneself to take spontaneous action towards life meaning and satisfaction.
