Workshop on enhancing the quality of life of people with special needs

Kuching: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak is
collaborating with the Department of Social Welfare (Sarawak) and ABC Lab in
organising a Workshop on Enhancing the Quality Life of the Special Needs and
Family.



The workshop will be held on 24
February, 2016 (Time: 1.20pm - 5.30pm), 25 February, 2016 (Time: 8.30am -
5.30m) and 5 March,2016 (Time:8.00am - 4.30pm) at the library.



Shigeru Imamoto, a special education
specialist from Japan, will be invited as a facilitator for this workshop. He
is experienced in the Autistic and Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH).



During the workshop, Imamoto will share
his experience and skills in Applied Behaviour Analysis.



Besides that, the will be a knowledge
sharing session on special education by special school teachers, staff of
Community Based Rehabilitation Centre (PDK), parents and representatives from
Heart Treasures Sdn Bhd.



The workshop aims to raise community
awareness on the importance of their role and participation in helping those
with special needs and developing the welfare and special education in the
state.



The workshop also acts as a platform in
enhancing ongoing initiatives in building a better quality life.



A sales exhibition by the PIBAKAT,
Community Based Rehabilitation Centre (PDK) and Special Needs Schools will be
held on March, 2016.
