State Library to hold forum on special needs

Kuching: The State Library (Pustaka) will hold
a forum on Enhancing the Quality of Life of the Special Needs and Family in
collaboration with the Welfare Department at its auditorium on Saturday (March
5) at 8am.

The
forum is a continuation of them Enhancing the Quality of Life of the Special
Needs and Family Workshop held last month.

The
forum aims to raise community awareness on the importance of helping those with
special needs through developing welfare and special education programmes in
the state.

The
speakers include Abdul Hamid Adenan from the Education Department,
representatives from the Kuching Integrated Special Education Programme,
Community-Based Rehabilitation (PDK) Centre, Heart Treasures Sdn Bhd and
special schools.

The
Sarawak Association for the Welfare of Intellectually Disabled Children
(Perkata), PDK Centre and special needs schools will also hold a charity sale.
