Chinese Musical Performance at Sarawakiana Carnival 2016

KUCHING: The Chinese Musical Performance in conjunction with Sarawakiana Carnival 2016 (29-31 October 2016) will be held at the State Library 
on 30 October at 2.00pm.

The public can watch and know more on the secret behind the Chinese face changing art ‘Bian Lian’, magic show by Edmond Wong and TeoChew opera 
performance by Teo Khiaw Club at the show.

‘Bian Lian` is an ancient Chinese dramatic art that is part of the more general Sichuan opera. Performers wear brightly colored costumes and move to
quick, dramatic music. 

As for TeoChew opera, it is an amazing synthesis of drama, music,singing, poetics, acrobatics, colourful costumes and folk art, is the 
highest expression of the Teochew culture.

The purpose of this programme is to highlight the uniqueness of Chinese musical artperformance as well as to conduct awareness regarding the
beauty of Chinese culture in Sarawak, especially to the younger generation.

Members of the public are invited to watch this interesting performance. Entrance is free.
