Summary
I found this book is helpful for me in my professional day-to-day commitments. It provides me insight of how top management team (TMT) can be effective both in their internal process and in the way in which they work with middle managers. This book outlines how a TMT can matter most for its organization, and does so in a positive way by considering the most recent academic and practical insights. Two factors are critical; (1) inside the boardroom, TMT members’ behaviours determines the quality of strategic decisions and (2) outside the boardroom, the way in which the TMT works with middle managers is crucial for the subsequent implementation of those decisions. Understanding how these two factors can be effectively performed help me as the middle manager grasp the complex mechanism of TMT impact. This book has indeed shed lights to my understanding on the overview of the organizational mechanism of TMT impact and how TMT participative leadership and middle manager active engagements increase the chances of achieving successful interaction which benefit the organization and its clienteles.
