Summary: The book of focuses on the varieties of reading and spelling disabilities, bringing them forward to the readers’ attentions such as general reading backwardness, comprehension disability, and specific reading retardation. Multiple studies has been conducted to find whether sex and social class differences, and family, community and school characteristics could contribute in the social context. Other studies has been done to find the nature of the cognitive deficit and brain development to further understand the reading and spelling disabilities better.
