Summary: A book of Borneo Fiction beautifully written by Golda Mowe. The story of a child called Bujang Maias abandoned by his father and his villages accusing him as a curse to the village and the death of his mother. The writing is so beautiful even on the tiniest details of an Iban old Lady of how the writer described her is so beautiful. What makes this book more interesting is it was based on real beliefs, taboos and terminologies of the Iban. My imagination can go beyond ordinary when I read this book and bring me closer to the story of Bujang Maias of how he grow up, raised by the Ape family until he become a man, a protector, a hero to the Iban tribe.
