Summary
Psychology has been a frustrating subject to cover in a relatively small space without losing information amidst shifting topics. The author had selected 24 stories to be featured in the book to highlight aspects of psychology with different levels of interest for the reader. The 24 stories are covered in chapters, further divided in 3 sections. The first section, prescientific psychology, explores cases that could’ve be better explained with psychology had it not fully discovered yet such as the Salem Witch Hunt and American Crowbar Case. The second section, the early years of psychology is explored with cases from Rorschach’s test, Sigmund Freud, and the controversial Little Albert experiment. Third section, modern era has cases of Cyril Burt’s fraud accusations, and the controversial Milgram’s research. The chapters are written for laypeople for better understanding without losing the important facts.
