Summary
The increasing changes in innovations, commerce, political landscape, and segregated living had further divide generations after generations. Loneliness caused by generation gaps can be bridged simply by starting small talks in a physical setting instead of social media. Social isolation enforced by stereotype can be damaging to any generations and it will hinder intergenerational relationship, causing the generation gap to widen. Intergenerational community, age-friendly works, dependence and independence between generations, and grandfamilies are discussed in two chapters on how to create and recreate lasting intergenerational relationship. The pragmatic push on education and changes in workplace ethics can be jarring for different generations. Care, support, and more efforts need to be done to connect generations to create a more fulfilling relationship.
