Summary
With the current state of the digital era, youths are being exposed numerous unfiltered information. Multiple methods were used to discover data from youths and protecting the retrieved data. Throughout the book, the relations between youth well-being and digital media were discussed in the aspects of health, equity, education and employment, consumerism, digital balance, and more. With the constant posting of everyday lives, privacy and surveillance became a more relevant topic for youths. Youths dependence of cell phones affect their productivity, focus, and safety which raises concern for many. Digital capital has been posited as a social feature for connectivity for youth to engage in financial gain such as commerce, surveys, and the growing creative industry. On the positive side, digital media has provided an avenue for youth to create new connections and relationships albeit the distance with some maybe suffering socially as its negative side. With the rise of AI (Artificial Intelligence), Internet of Things, Big Data, and more digital developments had caused many tidal shifts and surges, creating intense individualism affecting social structures and influencing youths to realize their future with digital will always be on the constant change.
