Celebrating Sarawak`s Stories, Voices, Heritage, and Creative Future

Join us at the Sarawak Literature Festival 2026, a vibrant five-day celebration of literature, culture, creativity, and community, taking place from 23?27 September 2026 in Miri.

Organised by Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, the festival brings together three signature events?the Book Fair Festival, Book Authors Festival, and Festival Sarawakiana?under one exciting platform. As the first festival of its kind in Sarawak, it celebrates the state`s rich literary heritage while inspiring a lifelong love for reading, writing, storytelling, and creative expression.

The festival will be held at the Miri Indoor Stadium, with selected programmes at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (Miri) and the Miri Handicraft Centre, transforming Miri into a lively literary and cultural destination.

Visitors of all ages can enjoy an exciting line-up of activities, including book exhibitions and sales, author meet-and-greet sessions, literary forums, book talks, creative writing workshops, storytelling sessions, cultural performances, traditional craft workshops, bibliotherapy, youth programmes, community literacy activities, cosplay competitions, music and poetry showcases, as well as a colourful Food and Handicraft Bazaar featuring Sarawak`s diverse ethnic communities. The festival will conclude with a Fun Run on 27 September 2026, encouraging families, friends, and the wider community to celebrate together.
